HOT TIPS FOR ELECTRICAL PANEL REPLACEMENT DAY

Submitted by members of 801-811 3rd street block

Our new electrical panels are being installed soon — are you ready?

Our Third Street block was the first to receive the new panels, and we have some tips for

you. The office will let the next block know well in advance when it is their turn. The power

to all units needs to be shut off about nine hours, between 8am and 5pm.

Here’s what our block learned!

  • Organize with a neighbour in another block to keep any necessary freezer/food stuff in

their fridge for the day. You just have to ask.

  • Make sure pets are locked away for the day with their food, water and toys. It’s hard

for the electricians to keep track of them and we don’t want any escapees.

  • If you’re going to be home and need to work, ensure devices are powered up, and you

know how to create a mobile hot spot. Also, make sure that you have a power bank

available if necessary (it should be fully charged).

  • Keep a flashlight or lantern in the bathroom. It’s really dark in there!

  • If you normally eat a cooked breakfast, you’ll have to do it before 8am. If you need to

cook something for lunch, choose something that can be prepared the evening before.

  • The technicians will need room for their vehicles, so organize with your block where

they will park.
